Experienceīartenders who don’t have on-the-job experience may have a hard time. Also, a good memory can come in handy when your business has regulars – it’s nice when the bartender knows a client’s favorite drink. However, they should be able to memorize several drink orders at a time and recall pertinent menu items to provide quick and efficient service to your guests. Great Memoryīartender candidates do not need to memorize a ton of drink recipes to be successful in their role. They may also be asked to help with other tasks to help service run smoothly. There will be times when they will need to transport alcohol or move heavy kegs. Physical FitnessĬandidates don’t have to be in tip top physical shape to bartend successfully, but they should be able to move around and lift heavy items. If the service at the bar is sub-par, this can lead to a negative experience for your guests.
